As a founding principal of Sheaff Brock Investment Advisors, LLC Dave shares responsibility for setting investment policy, asset allocation, and security selection for the company's managed accounts. He also consults with the clients of Sheaff Brock on overall portfolio construction.
Dave has 25 years experience in the financial services industry beginning with Bache Halsey Stuart Shields and later Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Dave went on to obtain his Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designation in 1984.
Ron Brock, Managing Director
As a founding principal of Sheaff Brock Investment Advisors, LLC Ron shares responsibility for setting investment policy, asset allocation, and security selection for the company's managed accounts. He also consults with the clients of Sheaff Brock on overall portfolio construction.
Ron has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry beginning with Prudential Bache Securities and later Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter. He attended the Indiana University School of Business where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in accounting.
Jim McMahon, Senior Portfolio Manager
Jim graduated from Manchester College in 1982 where he earned an accounting degree. Jim worked for the Indiana Secretary of State in the Securities Division prior to joining Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter in 1986. While at Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter Jim developed his own successful investment style and philosophy, and went on to achieve the title of Senior Vice-President of Investments.
David Morton, Vice President – National Sales
Dave Morton brings a breath of industry experience and general business background to his role as a Senior Portfolio Consultant at Sheaff Brock. Within the financial/investmentindustry Dave has worked on various sides of the business; from retail brokerage with EF Hutton and Shearson Lehman Brothers, trading with First Options in various trading pits of the CBOE, and as an auditor with one of the industry’s regulatory bodies, the National Futures Association. Dave also spent time in the marketing and advertising industry with Leo Burnett and last seventeen years prior to joining Sheaff Brock running his own firm.
Teri Kane, Senior Portfolio Administrator
Teri began her career at Prudential Securities in 1989, and moved to Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter two years later. Teri began as a brokers assistant and later moved into the role of an account executive; along the way she developed an enjoyment and expertise in equity options.
Diann M. Garlanger, Portfolio Administrator
Diann Garlanger joined Sheaff Brock in 2011 and her primary responsibilities include developing, strengthening, and maintaining relationships with TD Ameritrade Investment Consultants and onboarding new clients. Diann began her career in the insurance industry and was employed as a Registered Representative and Agent by The Equitable/AXA Group. She then spent 13 years at Muhlenkamp & Company, Inc. as a Regional Representative, and Institutional Sales Manager.
Diann received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College. She maintains her Series 65 securities license and is currently working toward the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designation.
Angie Reecer, Director of Client Services
Angie is responsible for overseeing all office functions, reconciliation of accounts, and operations functions. Angie has been involved in the financial services industry for over 15 years; working in banking, operations with Paine Webber, and most recently as an administrative assistant with Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter.
Deb McCulley, Portfolio Administrator
Deb is responsible for portfolio administration, reconciliation of accounts, and general office functions. With over 20 years in the financial services industry, Deb began in operations with E.F. Hutton, and later moved to Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter as an assistant. Prior to joining Sheaff Brock Deb was most recently with Star Wealth Management.
Christy Lynch, Vice President – National Sales
Christy spent the decade of the nineties in Chicago on the sales and marketing side of the mutual fund and managed account industry with Paine Webber/Mitchell Hutchins, the Munder Funds, and Duff & Phelps before "retiring" to raise a family. She re-entered the industry with Sheaff Brock in 2010 to assist in our national sales efforts. Christy earned a B.A. from Purdue and attended Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy.
Jody Alexander, Vice President – National Sales
Jody spent sixteen years as both a Financial Advisor and Senior Client Service Representative at various Wall Street firms including Paine Webber, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and UBS before joining Sheaff Brock in 2011 to assist in our national sales efforts. Jody graduated from Indiana University.
Wally Taggart, Trader
Wally Taggart began his investment career with Paine Webber in 1963 and was one of the first brokers in Indianapolis to use options and to become a Registered Options Principal with the CBOE. He spent over 30 years as a broker and in branch management with Paine Webber, Dean Witter, and Morgan Stanley. Wally claims he is most famous for being a successful street racer of his father’s Hudson Hornet on the west side of Chicago in the mid-fifties! After a decade of “retirement” Sheaff Brock persuaded him to come back to work and help us with trading.
Libby Neidlinger, Office Manager
Although new to the investment industry Libby brings a wealth of experience to Sheaff Brock. Prior to taking a few years “off” to raise a family Libby spent over a decade at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in various positions. Most recently she was the Special Events Coordinator for all facets of events, meetings, seminars and receptions including those surrounding the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, Formula One, and Moto GP races.
